The OPLIN Database Usage Reporting Tool uses automation to pull usage numbers directly from the vendors' sites, and presents the most useful numbers (generally “searches” and “items”) in a consistent interface.
To see your library's numbers for last month, visit stats.oplin.org.
Click linked database names for more numbers and information.
ODURT supplies basic usage data for the research databases provided statewide for public libraries. It does not reflect the full range of activity that can be reported for some databases, focusing instead on two metrics in particular:
- Regular Searches (as opposed to automated and federated searches)
- Total Item Investigations (including full text, abstracts, and other content items)
When these standard metrics are not available, other vendor-determined statistics which most approximate the standards are gathered. For more information about database usage measurement standards, see the Friendly Guide for Librarians (pdf) or the full COUNTER Code of Practice website.

Additional reports of EBSCOhost usage, including NoveList, Auto Repair Reference Center, and any other EBSCO databases for which the library has a subscription. Requires library password. EBSCOadmin is EBSCO's own tool for checking EBSCO database usage statistics, creating reports, and customizing certain interface options. Since it is maintained by EBSCO and not OPLIN, a separate ID and password are required. If you do not know your ID and password, please contact the OPLIN Support Center, support@oplin.ohio.gov for assistance. For further details on how the tool itself works, click on the "Help" link at the top of the screen after logging in.
