Overnight this Thursday (September 25, 2008) World Book will be launching World Book Student, the upgrade/replacement for World Book Online Reference Center, their middle school site. You can see the preview or the announcement (.PDF).
Worldbook says: "We know that making the switch during the year could be an inconvenience for some users, so we will be leaving WBORC up throughout the school year for those schools or libraries who do not want to make the change at this time. But World Book Student has a lot of new features and functionality, as well as a much better design, so we are encouraging people to switch over at this time. WBORC will be taken down permanently at the beginning of next summer.
At the same time Student launches we will be putting up a new "landing" page for people who come to the site through WBORC. (This would be anyone who does not have a specific site set as their homepage already). This page shows the sites included in the user's subscription. However, INFOhio uses a different method to get into World Book and so this does not apply to them. This may be the case with your users as well." (See screenshot, below.)
