OPLIN is pleased to announce that it now has a special design template available to its Dynamic Website Kit client libraries, just for the 2015 statewide Summer Reading Program. Libraries can apply the design to any pages they wish in their Kit, and add their own content. For just $50.00, your summer reading content can have its own special site design. Learn more

The 2014 OPLIN report to our stakeholders (public libraries) will take place at the OLC Convention and Expo on Wednesday, October 8 at 1:15. Everyone is welcome to attend! This meeting will be both an annual report to Ohio public librarians and an opportunity for librarians to influence the future direction of OPLIN. Staff will review what has happened over the past year and report on some federal and state initiatives that have affected both the OPLIN network connections and the Ohio Web Library collection.
As you may know, E-rate is undergoing significant changes this year, so OPLIN, the State Library, the regional library systems and OLC have worked together to make a significantly increased number of E-rate workshops available. All workshops are free of charge.
The data for Internet connectivity at Ohio public library outlets, collected in Spring 2014, has now been posted at http://www.oplin.org/content/ohio-public-library-connectivity-data.

On June 19, the State Library Board appointed Marty Beets to a three-year term on the OPLIN Board, beginning this July 1.
Marty is the Director of Technology Operations for The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, where he has held various IT positions since 2008, having spent the previous ten years with various private technology companies. He replaces Sandi Plymire, Director of the Muskingum County Library System, who is term-limited from the Board after six years, including a year serving as Chair of the OPLIN Board.
Following discussions at the April planning meeting of the OPLIN Board, the Board has approved revisions to the OPLIN Strategic Plan for 2014-2015. These revisions only involved slight wording changes to bring the plan up to date, with no substantive changes to OPLIN policies, goals, or objectives.
