At their meeting this morning, the State Library Board filled four vacancies on the OPLIN Board resulting from member terms expiring on June 30, 2013.
One member whose term is expiring is eligible for another term and is willing to serve; the OPLIN bylaws and O.R.C. 3375.65 allow board members to serve for two full terms, and so the State Library Board reappointed Jamie Mason, Deputy Director of Rocky River Public Library, to a second three-year term.

For many years, OPLIN has been collecting links to websites with information about Ohio and posting them at the Explore Ohio website, http://exploreohio.org. To date, we have well over 12,000 links to sites covering everything from Ohio government to Ohio family activities. We are happy to announce that Explore Ohio now has a new look and new search functionality, to make it easier to find the links you want.

Wright State University, serving as fiscal agent for the Libraries Connect Ohio partnership (OPLIN, OhioLINK, INFOhio, and the State Library) posted the Invitation to Negotiate for the next five years of Ohio Web Library databases on December 20, 2012. Information about this ITN is available through Wright State's purchasing website and Wright State will now handle all contact with vendors regarding money, purchasing, timeline, etc.
The 134th regular meeting of the Board of the Ohio Public Library Information Network will be held at the State Library of Ohio in Columbus on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 10:00 am to noon.
Oxford Reference recently launched a completely redesigned site on September 19. This new site, unlike the old one, lists resources that subscribers can access as well as those that are “locked” and cannot be accessed through our paid subscription. These are designated with a lock icon and the following “subscribe” message:

The OPLIN 2012 Stakeholders Meeting took place on Friday, September 7, in conjunction with the OLC Expo in Columbus. OPLIN Director Stephen Hedges spoke about developments over the past year in addition to plans for network and other services in the upcoming year. For those not able to attend in person, this session was also broadcast as a live webcast (audio and video).
